Mixed Ages Camps

These camps are for children ages 4 – 8, entering K – 3rd grade in fall 2016.

OUTDOOR EXPLORERS AT THE MUSEUM

This all-outdoor camp will bring out the naturalist in campers as they explore and investigate the local beaches, hiking trails, Coast Guard Station and old army barracks. Campers will receive a pouch of investigating tools that they can take home at the end of the week including a bag, magnifying glass, binoculars and journal. 

NEW! OUTDOOR EXPLORERS AT THE MARIN ART AND GARDEN CENTER

Special location: Marin Art and Garden Center

The Marin Art & Garden Center is an 11-acre historic cultural institution located in the heart of Ross Valley. This all outdoor camp will bring out the naturalist in campers as they explore and investigate the Habitat Garden and Pond, Butterfly Cottage and Edible Garden. Campers will receive a pouch of investigating tools* that they can take home at the end of the week. 

*Includes a magnifying glass, binoculars and journal. 

SUMMER CAMP SAMPLER 

Special time: 1 – 4 p.m.

This camp features highlights from our most popular camp themes and activities. As the campers’ unique interests emerge, educators will adjust the curriculum to allow them to explore their interests and dig deeper into specific topics. 

MONDAY: SHIPWRECKS & TREASURE HUNTS

Embark on a voyage of adventure making maps, singing chanteys, digging for treasures from mysterious lands and discovering weird sea creatures. 

TUESDAY: MAGIC CHEMISTRY

Campers will discover the magic of chemistry by mixing concoctions, investigating the properties of matter, and experimenting with different scientific tools.

WEDNESDAY: ON THE BAY

Investigate local animals, search the shores for hidden treasures and take on the persona of bugs, fish, plants and birds while exploring their habitats.

THURSDAY: ART ATTACK

Campers will explore the artistic process and express themselves with paint, sculpture, natural objects and recycled materials. Each day introduces new techniques and exploration of a variety of fun, basic media.

FRIDAY: OUTDOOR EXPLORERS
