ACM Reciprocal Admission Policy Change

The reciprocal admission policy for children’s museums in the Bay Area is changing as of June 21, 2007.

As a valued member of our Museum, we are notifying you of a change in the reciprocity agreement between our three regional Bay Area children's museums – the Bay Area Discovery Museum, the Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose, and Habitot Children's Museum.

With your ACM reciprocal-level membership, you will continue to enjoy free admission when visiting other children’s museums in the ACM network. At children’s museums in the Bay Area, free admission will be limited to two visits per family membership, with unlimited discounted admission of $4 per person for all subsequent visits.  Your two free reciprocal visit passes will be available at the front desk of our museum or can be requested by mail. Please expect to present your current membership card with ACM sticker and your photo ID at the entry desk.

As of June 21, your ACM-level reciprocal benefits will include:

  • Unlimited admission at your home museum, plus all of your regular museum benefits

  • Two free admission passes for up to six people for use at the other two children’s museums in the Bay Area with your current ACM-level membership card and a photo ID

  • Unlimited visits at $4 per person at the other two children’s museums in the Bay Area with your current ACM-level membership card and a photo ID

  • Unlimited visits to reciprocal museums nationwide outside of a 50-mile radius of the Bay Area! Click here for the list of 130 museums.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as the Bay Area children’s museums face increasing operating costs and must adjust their reciprocal visit policy to better reflect its intended purpose. We encourage all members to enjoy visiting neighboring museums while supporting their home museum. If there are any questions about our new policy, please contact our membership department at (415) 339-3932.
