Annual Gala

Playdate 2008

Fort Baker Beach

The Bay Area Discovery Museum will host its annual gala, Playdate, an evening of cocktails, dinner, auctions, dancing and adult play at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge, to raise money to be directed toward the Museum’s art and science programs, festivals and performances, and scholarships for underserved children and their families. At Forum Sir Ken Robinson referred to a report from the National Advisory Committee on Creativity and Cultural Education.  He focused on the segment on partnership and collaboration which can be found in Part Three of the report.


Goblin Jamboree 2007

The Discovery Council held its annual Goblin Jamboree Fundraiser the weekend of October 20 & 21, welcoming more than 5,600 costumed-clad kids and families to the Museum for Witches' School, Boo Bowling, pony rides and much more.

A major fundraiser for the Museum, Goblin Jamboree 2007 raised a record-breaking $166,000 in support of the museum's educational  programs, exhibitions and community outreach initiatives. More than 1,000 tickets were given to children from underserved Bay Area neighborhoods, with lunch, goody bags and transportation provided.
