Family & Drop-Off Classes

Family and drop-off classes at the Bay Area Discovery Museum are grounded in knowledge of child development, the recognition of development as a continuum and the importance of relationships with responsive adults. Multi-part classes present an opportunity for deep engagement with a topic, as well as exploration of multiple locations. Our risk-friendly environment allows children to experience trial and error in a safe and playful setting. The curriculum is intrinsically motivating and experiential, allows for active engagement, emphasizes process over product, and facilitates the practice of divergent thinking and connecting ideas through experimentation and repetition.

Classes include Museum admission for one adult and one child. Pre-registration for classes is required and class size is limited. For questions regarding our classes, please contact Danielle Pitchford, enrichment programs manager at (415) 339-3906.

Refund policy: The Bay Area Discovery Museum reserves the right to cancel family classes not fully enrolled and will issue full refunds in such cases. Please note that we do not offer refunds or make up classes for missed classes.

Registration begins Tuesday, September 15.
