Dia De Los Niño/Dia De Los Libros is an annual event held in San Francisco to encourage children to find themselves in books. A month long culmination of activities focusing on young children and literacy leads to a fun-filled celebration for children and their families to promote literature. The celebration will reflect the rich ethnic traditions of our community to feature storytelling, the bookmobile, art activities plus music and dance. Dia de los Niños is traditionally celebrated in Latin America at the end of April to commemorate the essential role of children to the nation’s future.
Event partners include: Mission Learning Center, Children’s Book Press, the Jump Start Program at the University of San Francisco, San Francisco Public Library, KQED Education Network, Zeum Museum, Museum of Craft and Folk Art.
