Our Talented Guides

Tami Lau

What are your hobbies outside of work?

  • I love knitting and reading. I read all kinds of book, fiction, non-fiction, science fiction. One of my favorite books is Tale of Two Cites. I also love to bake sweet things like pies, cakes and cookies. Oh! Hiking and camping, too!

Tell us about your family.

  • I have a younger brother that goes to UC Berkeley.  We're very close and we used to play together all the time when we were little. Actually, I'm close with my whole family. I really respect and admire my parents for the way they raised me and my brother. They were Chinese immigrants.

What is your favorite thing about the Museum?

  • The kids are my favorite thing about the Museum. I love seeing how they discover and interact with things around them and the different parts of the Museum.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

  • I’m not sure yet. I would love to get into the sciences or maybe education and art. I have a lot of different ideas of what I want to do.

Is there something you look forward to learning?

  • Swimming, I never learned that and I would like to. The guitar too. I tried a long time ago but didn't get the hang of it. I would like to take a class or get a teacher to teach me.

Where would you like to travel?

  • New Zealand, Australia and Europe. I've never been to Europe and I'd love to go there. I'd also like to go to China to see the country.

If you had the power to do anything what would you do?

  • I’d love the power to forgive and to not worry about anything.  Forgiveness is a great ability to have.
