The Discovery School Team

Elisa Pagliarulo

The Discovery School Manager & Lead Educator

I have had a life-long interest in working and learning alongside children and am thrilled to be a part of The Discovery School team. I graduated from UC Davis with a BS in Human Development with an emphasis on Early Childhood, and a minor in Education. While attending college, I gained invaluable experience as an intern, volunteer and research assistant as UC Davis’s Center for Child and Family Studies. I have worked in a wide variety of childcare programs (preschools, crisis nurseries, special needs preschool, etc.) and some of my most recent teaching experience includes Cow Hollow School in San Francisco and Stretch the Imagination at both the San Francisco and Corte Madera locations. Additionally, I am currently working towards a MA in Early Childhood Education at San Francisco State University.

I spent my early years in the beautiful Ithaca, NY where I developed a passion for the waterfalls and the natural world in general. In my spare time I enjoy exploring the outdoors, sketching, cooking, traveling and spending time with my boyfriend, Lazar, and our two doggies, Chippy & Saffi.

Hailey Tropeano

The Discovery School Lead Teacher & Curriculum Specialist

This is my first year teaching at The Discovery School and I am excited to be a part of a community that so greatly values creativity, curiosity, and connection to nature. I was born and raised in Florida and many of my childhood memories involve being at the beach or on a boat! After graduating from Wake Forest University, I moved to Austin, where I received a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of Texas and worked as a pre-kindergarten teacher and yoga instructor. Life is certainly one big adventure and I am so happy that my journey has led me here to the Bay Area Discovery Museum.

In the classroom, I strive to build connection with my students and within our school family so that each child may feel safe and ready to learn. Education should be active, hands – on and FUN and my goal is to foster a lifelong love of learning in each child. I can’t wait to share my joy for teaching and learning with you! When I’m not at The Discovery School, you can find me exploring the Bay Area with my husband, Chris, and our big fluffy golden retriever, Sampson.

Hannah Boston

The Discovery School Assistant Teacher & Enrichment Programs Assistant Manager

I started working at the Bay Area Discovery Museum 1.5 years ago as a Discovery Guide. Since then, I have taken on the role of Visitor Experience Assistant and Education Coordinator. I grew up just down the road in Mill Valley, CA so my twin sister and I were lucky enough to be Museum regulars! Every day I feel happy and grateful to have been able to rejoin this incredible community of educators, visitors and families. I graduated from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota with a B.A. in Geology and a minor in Studio Art. I am a passionate believer that the subjects of science and art are intimately linked, especially in Early Childhood learning and exploration. When I am not at the Museum, I enjoy taking ECE courses, playing soccer, tap dancing and going on adventures.
